Brooke Schmidt
Track and Field
Schmidt has cemented her place among the all-time great athletes to come through Wiggins High School. She currently holds the school records in both the shot put and discus, along with the state record in discus. Brooke is the reigning state champion in both events, having swept the shot put and discus titles in 2025.
On April 28, Schmidt set a new personal record and school record in the shot put with an impressive throw of 43’ ½’’ . She has also begun expanding her skill set by competing in the hammer throw and javelin.
In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Brooke was recently named Wiggins High School Female Athlete of the Year. She will attend Abilene Christian University this fall to continue both her academic and athletic career.
