Monday, February 10th, around 2pm, an employee at the Walmart off Barlow Road in Fort Morgan received a bomb threat. The store was evacuated, and all the roads around Walmart were closed off, all out of precaution. The Fort Morgan Police Department was on scene, and performed a full sweep of the store, as the bomb squad was called in.
There are reports that there were similar threats like this made nationwide. Barlow was shut down from I-76 to HWY 34 (Platte Avenue). Once everything was checked out and determined safe, the location was turned back over to the management of Walmart. As stated in their posting on Facebook the Fort Morgan Police Department takes these types of threats seriously and the safety of all individuals in and around the area is the primary concern.
At this point, an investigation into the threat made to a Walmart employee will be investigated. We are working to validate similar calls at other Walmart stores.
