KFTM Sports Update 10/20/23

Holy Family scored on six of their eight possessions on their way to a (49-7) win over Fort Morgan last night at Legion Field. Freshman Dawson Kahl had the lone Mustang touchdown on an 11 yard pass from JJ Marquez at the end of the first half. Marquez finished the night (15 of 24) passing for 188 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Fort Morgan turned the ball over four times and included a blocked punt by the Tigers that was returned for six. The Mustangs close out the home portion on the regular season schedule a week from today against Northfield at 7pm.

Wiggins Lady Tiger volleyball celebrated their seniors with a three set sweep over visiting Caliche, while Weldon Valley won (3 sets to one) on the road at Belleview Christian last night. In the only other event of the night, Fort Morgan Soccer scored two second half goals to get past Severance in a final of (3-1).

Coming up tonight on a football Friday, Brush travels to University for a battle of Patriot League east unbeatens, Wiggins packs their bags and heads to Limon to take on the Badgers, while the Weldon Valley Warriors are on the road at Peetz. All three games are set for a 7pm kickoff. On the volleyball court the Lady Warriors face the Bulldogs in Peetz at 4pm and Brush is on the road at Valley for a 6:30 pm first serve.
