Busy weekend for local sports, and we begin with a recap of our football Friday. Fort Morgan played Roosevelt tough, but were doubled up in a final score of (42-21) at Legion Field. The Roughriders had given up just 6 points and 221 total yards in two games. The Mustangs stacked up 21 in the second half, and almost 300 yards of offense unofficially. Fort Morgan is back at home Friday against Pueblo County at 7pm on KFTM.

The Wiggins Tigers rolled the Meloneers (55 to 8) down in Rocky Ford for their second win of the season. Tigers are off until Saturday when they entertain the Platte Valley Broncos at 1pm. Finish up with the final football score from the weekend, Weldon Valley lost at Hanover Saturday (52-8), their first loss of the year.

Brush softball played well at their home tournament and finished the weekend (3-1). The Lady Diggers picked up wins over Wray/Yuma, Limon and Fort Lupton, with their lone loss to Rocky Ford (11-4). Brush returns to league play Tuesday at Lyons Tuesday and at home to Sterling on Thursday. Both games have a 4pm first pitch here on hometown radio KFTM.

The Wiggins boys cross country won the team title at the Fort Morgan Invite, and Brush Volleyball defeated Yuma in five both on Friday. On Saturday, the Fort Morgan boys soccer team lost at Falcon (3-0) in their return to the pitch.

Weldon Valley volleyball went (2-1) at the Timnath tournament, with victories over Haxtun and Wellington and a (2 sets to 1) loss to Timnath. They next play at Caliche on Thursday at 5pm
