Fort Morgan football jumped out to an early (14-0) lead, but were outscored (35-7) the rest of the way in a (35-21) homecoming loss to Pueblo County on Friday. The Mustangs are now (0-4) this season and off to their worst start since 2010. Fort Morgan finishes their month-long homestand on Friday against the Frederick Golden Eagles ahead of their bye week. Out of their bye week, Brush shut out Yuma in a final of (28-0) on Friday. The Diggers make the long trip to Rifle for a non-league matchup against the Bears on Friday night at 6pm. The other two games were played on Saturday afternoon. Wiggins improved to (3-1) with their second straight victory (22-15) over Platte Valley and Weldon Valley opened league play with a (55-6) home loss to North Park. Other events from Friday had Brush Softball suffer a (16-1) against Pueblo County in their first game of the Northridge tournament. The Lady Diggers bounced back with a (16-5) over Northfield and no score was available for their finale against Eagle Valley on Saturday. Brush returns to league play Tuesday as they host Platte Valley at 4pm in game one of our double header on Hometown radio KFTM. Volleyball from the weekend had Weldon Valley drop another five set match at Briggsdale Friday, and Wiggins were handed their first loss of the season (3 sets to 1) against Platte Valley on Saturday. Coming up today, Brush Golf competes at their Regional Tournament at Boomerang Golf Course, and Mustan soccer entertains Holy Family at 4:30pm.
