Wray Basketball had a case of the Monday's yesterday as they were swept in their games against Heritage Christian in a reschedule from Saturday. The girls lost their game 56-45, and led by 10 points late in the 2nd quarter before Heritage Christian was able to cut the deficit down to 2 into halftime and continue that momentum into the 3rd quarter, outscoring Wray 16-6 to take control of the game. The boys lost 62-59, and like the girls, held a 9 point lead in the 1st quarter as Heritage Christian got rolling and made the entire rest of the game close. The game was tied at 59 with 10 seconds left as Wray turned the ball over and Heritage Christian then drained a buzzer-beating 3 pointer to win the game. Wray Basketball will play their final regular season game on Thursday in Wiggins, the district tournament will begin next Tuesday.
Wray Wrestling is in the State Tournament on Thursday through Saturday. Wray's state qualifiers are Lance Buoy, Austin Collins, Andrew Buoy, Samuel Meisner, Brody Richards, Casey Midcap, Eric Tracy and Tavery Chappell. Round 1 will be on Thursday starting at noon, the quarterfinals and consolation round 1 will be on Friday starting at 8:30am, consolation round 2 and the semifinals will be on Friday starting at 4:30pm, and the rest of consolation and the placing matches will be on Saturday starting at 10am.
