The basketball district tournaments wrapped up over the weekend. On Friday, the Wray boys defeated Holyoke 66-60 in the semifinals. They fell down 10 points early, but recovered quickly and took control of the game, eventually leading by 13 in the 2nd half. On Saturday, the boys lost to Merino in the district championship 47-44. The boys had chances throughout the second half, but Merino had an answer every single time and were able to get the stops needed to win. Both the Wray boys and girls basketball teams will be on the road for the regional tournament on Friday and Saturday. The girls will travel to Hoehne and take on Monte Vista, while the winner will take on the winner of Hoehne and Byers on Saturday. The boys will travel to Denver Christian and take on Elbert, while the winner will take on the winner of Denver Christian and Swink on Saturday.
