From the RE-1 Valley School District, on Tuesday, March 25th, a student from Sterling High School was found to be in possession of what has been called a ‘very realistic, non-functioning replica of a handgun. Law enforcement quickly responded to the report, as RE-1 Valley Superintendent Dr. Martin Foster responded in a press release by stating that ‘this was an isolated incident, and no credible threat was identified’. There could be serious consequences for the student responsible, who was taken into custody by the Sterling Police Department. The student is now facing legal action, as well as disciplinary troubles, due to state laws and school policies.
