Morgan County Sheriff’s Office -
On Saturday, December 7th, at approximately 7:00 PM Sergeant Johnson attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a silver Chrysler Sebring with expired license plates. The vehicle did not stop immediately and continued to drive. Initially, Sergeant Johnson thought the driver might be looking for a safe place to pull over. However, when he saw the passenger door open Sergeant Johnson became concerned that the three occupants might flee on foot, prompting him to call for additional units to assist him at the scene.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop on West 6th Avenue near Walnut Street after failing to obey a stop sign at that intersection. The driver, a male, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was later identified as 31-year-old Byron Roth. The two female occupants remained at the scene and were identified as 33-year-old Amanda Loos, and 63-year-old Sharon Nava.
Sergeant Johnson then brought his K-9, Dobby, around the vehicle and he alerted to the presence of drugs inside. Deputies subsequently discovered heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine in the car.
The two females were arrested on multiple drug-related charges, while a warrant will be sought for the male who fled from the vehicle. Byron Roth also has a felony warrant for his arrest in Logan County. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of 31-year-old Byron Roth, please contact the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
