Press Release: Morgan County Sheriff’s Office -
Following a month-long investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies, a violent fugitive from Wyoming was arrested without incident in Fort Morgan, Colorado. On Wednesday, March 26th, 25-year-old Tyger M. Rodriguez was taken into custody at approximately 2:30 PM in the 17,000 block of Morgan County Road 15. Rodriguez is currently being held at the Morgan County Jail on a NO Bond, nationwide extraditable warrant issued by the Goshen County Sheriff’s Office in Wyoming.
He is wanted for multiple crimes, including two felony counts of aggravated assault, one involving a deadly weapon. Nearly a month ago, the United States Marshals Office Fugitive Unit notified local authorities that Rodriguez was possibly hiding in Morgan County. Through collaborative investigative efforts, it was confirmed that he was indeed in the area.
A coordinated law enforcement operation led to Rodriguez’s arrest. Agencies involved included:
• NE Regional SWAT Team (Sterling Police, Brush Police, Fort Morgan Police, Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and Morgan County Sheriff’s Office)
• U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force from Colorado and Wyoming
• Colorado State Patrol SWAT Team
• Boulder County Sheriff’s Office
• Douglas County Sheriff’s Office
• Colorado Department of Corrections
• Colorado Bureau of Investigation
Upon realizing the significant presence of law enforcement, Rodriguez surrendered peacefully. Morgan County Sheriff Dave Martin stated, "We are incredibly grateful to all of our law enforcement partners whose dedication and cooperation made this arrest possible, we also extend our sincere thanks to the local businesses and citizens who offered their assistance throughout the investigation and today’s operation."
